You'll have regular 1:1’s with your manager which focus on performance, coaching and development. You'll also be a part of a rapidly-growing team and have a voice in the future of our banking program as we grow. This internship is a full-time summer position that will potentially continue as a part-time position after Summer 2024. The duration and timing of the summer internship is yet to be confirmed. 

What will you do?

  • Leverage Ownr’s in-house technology and RBC banking tools to create business deposit accounts online

  • Connect with branch staff to facilitate ID verification in-branch to finalize the creation of the BDA

  • Connect with Ownr entrepreneurs to help them identify solutions for any scheduling conflicts or any technical issues

  • Identify potential issues and communicate it back to the appropriate team to reduce impact to user experience

  • Partner closely with cross-functional team members to identify, implement and test product updates that increase conversion rates within the Ownr product

What do you need to succeed?

Must have

  • Completed or working on the completion of a bachelor’s degree, college diploma or equivalent

  • Proficient computer skills

  • The ability to successfully work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision

  • Strong time management skills to manage workload

  • An excitement to propose new things, iterate on execution, and develop tests that showcase the results, good or bad

  • The ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple and effective manner while working with sensitive client information

Nice to have

  • Interest in entrepreneurship

  • Sales or data entry experience in a startup environment / fast-paced growing organization

  • Knowledge of business processes and organizational structures

  • Willingness to learn about legal concepts and other issues affecting business owners in Canada

  • Experience using Intercom or similar customer-engagement software

  • Experience with SaaS and subscription based business models

  • Interest in technology and building innovative online solutions

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Summer 2024 Student placement with a start date of May 2024, and end date of August 2024. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2024 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2024), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
