Title: Head of Systems & Automation
Location: Remote (forever)
Summary: You’re a seasoned automation-builder/low-coder (preferably with experience in Salesforce, Airtable, and Zapier) who wants to own & create tech stacks for a small, fast-paced team; you want to work for an impact-driven org (curating conversations for some of the most interesting people in the world).
Background: Dialog’s mission is to help leaders learn and become more effective. It does so by facilitating deep, off-the-record conversations for influential participants varied in background and ideology. Since its founding in 2006 by Peter Thiel and Auren Hoffman, Dialog has gathered thousands of leaders in political, business, tech, creative, military, and academic disciplines from 50+ countries for invite-only retreats. These off-the-record retreats have no speeches or panels; rather, participants engage in breakout sessions moderated by fellow participants.
Why Now: Dialog hosts three annual, 200+ person retreats. In 2020, we launched a membership program (currently with 500+ members), whose programming includes many curated conversations each month, both online and in-person. We have set ambitious goals to turbocharge our positive impact through growing membership and improving the quality of its programming.
Responsibilities: Report directly to the Executive Director and own the entire tech stack for our team:
- Manage Salesforce/Airtable databases and own overall CRM architecture
- Create & maintain low-code automations for marketing operations, including emails, calendar invites, payments, and other integrated systems
- Create & maintain user-facing low-code applications like member web portal, event payment pages, and event apps
- Build new automations & systems and discover new tools to help the team get more efficient
- Manage one direct report and a network of contractors
Requirements: 2 to 5+ years of work experience, plus:
- Ideally: experience with Salesforce or Airtable, Zapier
- Nice to have: Glide, Whalesync, Wordpress.org, Elementor, or Ortto
- You are extremely efficient, able to context-switch and pivot frequently
- You stay at the forefront of emerging technologies – you’re naturally driven by exceptional curiosity
- You love collaborating with people AND flourish independently; you relate to the phrase “I like to get my hands dirty to learn a new tool instead of watching a training video”
- Are passionate about improving the world, through helping leaders to learn and grow – regardless of their political/religious/other views
