About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to be part of the Operational Excellence team in Global Operations, specifically the Digital Transformation – Process Intelligence Services (PIS) unit. You will join a team of highly specialized Process Engineers that are cross trained in process improvement and delivery of Celonis supported process and task mining initiatives.  Our global team drives process, efficiency, and control improvements aligned to strategic priorities in the enterprise. 


As a Lead Process Engineer on our team, you should be comfortable driving the full lifecycle for digital transformation efforts from defining the approach to solve complex problems to the delivery of tangible recommendations in a high-paced, cross-matrix environments, with significant ambiguity. A successful candidate will have proven experience in a business advisory function, using process or task mining software to support data-driven recommendations, while facilitating senior leaders and stakeholders through the delivery and change management life cycle.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead process and task mining initiatives from development through successful execution
  • Facilitate stakeholders through process discovery and design of no-code action flows
  • Identify opportunities for process simplification, enhancements, and automation solutions
  • Solve complex problems using root cause analysis tools such as A3 problem solving
  • Quantify and gain acceptance of business value for identified opportunities from business leaders and finance partners
  • Leverage business acumen and soft skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships and change management in a matrix organization
  • Provide thought leadership in the area of continuous improvement and operational excellence

Work location: Charlotte, North Carolina


  • 5+ years of Process Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business or management preferred
  • 4+ years of management consulting experience at a top-tier consulting firm or financial institution
  • 4+ years experience leading process improvement / operational excellence initiatives
  • Experience with process mining tools and programming languages (Celonis, SQL, PQL, Python)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written presentation skills with an audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Adaptable and progressive learner with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences.
  • A high performer who is proactive, can quickly solve problems and responds rapidly to changing conditions in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate with confidence in front of an executive team
  • Exceptional organization and planning abilities

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
