As an experienced virtualization engineer, you will ensure operational performance of our global private cloud in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. You will work with a team of expert engineers and architects responsible for the complete ownership of our global cloud infrastructure. You will be working on the design, deployment, and operations of our global private cloud and automation platforms.

It is an exciting time at NTT’s Cloud Communications Division, to be a virtualization engineer. More than ever before, organizations are relying on our collaboration, conferencing, and unified communication services to do business. We have invested significantly in our infrastructure to ensure it can support the latest high quality UC services, powered by great engineering and automation, and we’re looking for engineers who can help us continue that journey. This position provides the opportunity to work on core data center technologies (Hypervisor, storage, SDN, Windows infrastructure), cloud services (Azure), and network security on a global scale. Use of infrastructure automation and tools (VMware Aria Automation, Ansible) are also a core focus of the virtualization engineering team.

Our virtualization engineers strive for engineering excellence through elegant, consistent design (emphasizing simplicity wherever possible), a keen focus on security, and the use of automation and AI to both reduce manual effort, and to make the infrastructure more dynamic and responsive to our customers’ needs.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure equipment and services such as servers, hypervisors, Storage arrays, and their management stacks.
  • Perform maintenance and upgrades.
  • Ensure infrastructure performance with monitoring.
  • Troubleshooting infrastructures issues and outages, sometimes autonomously.
  • Implement security policies.
  • Proactively update documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Use and maintain automation tools to deploy and operate the infrastructure.


Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:

  • VMware vSphere: vCenter, ESXi, vSAN
  • VMware aria suite: Operations, Automation, Operations for Network
  • VMWare NSX: Networking, Distributed Firewall, Gateway Firewall
  • Storage Array: NetApp FAS / AFF
  • Servers: Dell
  • Windows: Windows Servers 2019/2022, Active directory, SCCM, SQL Servers
  • Load Balancing: AVI
  • Automation: vRA, Ansible
  • Linux: Oracle Linux, Rudder
  • Development/scripting: PowerShell, Python, Bash, REST API
  • VDI: Horizon


Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or relevant
  • Relevant certification, such as VCP


Required Experience:

  • Seasoned experience as a System Administrator
  • Seasoned experience working on a private cloud infrastructure, including Compute, Storage and Network
  • Seasoned experience working with Microsoft and operating systems, system administration, and system security experience
  • Seasoned experience working on development for tooling and automations.
